**Summary:**



The Bank’s Market Planning and Execution Team was formed to support the company’s aggressive agenda to optimize the Retail Branch Distribution Network. The strategy includes the development of new retail branches and branch relocations, funded in part by the consolidation of underperforming or redundant branches from within the network.



Capital One is looking for a Project Manager to lead and coordinate projects within the Bank to support this agenda. The environment is fast-paced and tactical, with work that is essential to the Bank’s success. The role requires a well-rounded individual who can translate the Program’s strategy into executable market and project-level plans.



This will require broad leadership and partnership with stakeholders across multiple departments. This individual should be comfortable operating at a high level to ensure the various deliverables of the program are well managed. This individual should bring the ability to interact and communicate with senior leadership to influence outcomes, as well as, be comfortable guiding and coaching team members at all levels. Occasional travel can be expected.



**Project Manager Responsibilities**



+ Partner heavily with the Bank’s Network Strategy, Branch Construction, Sales & Service, Marketing & Analytics, Marketing and Branch Operations teams, along with other internal partners and external vendors, to influence and execute business intent



+ Communicates with Project Management counterparts, customers and program stakeholders to ensure continuing alignment with program objectives

+ Lead project status meetings, troubleshoot and resolve issues, and manage / mitigate risks

+ Communicate with executive leadership to ensure continuing alignment with program objectives and provide updates on status of same



+ The ability to work well in a team oriented environment and analyze decisions with a broad perspective



+ Create and manage project scopes and schedules – track progress and milestone achievement

+ Forge relationships with key stakeholders to ensure delivery of commitments

+ Identify ways to improve and streamline business process



**Agile Responsibilities**



+ Contribute to creating a safe environment where teams can identify impediments/blockers/dysfunctions, and facilitate their removal

+ Coach teams facing tough challenges e.g. related to how they work and interact together

+ Encourage, support, and guide continuous improvement of the team, its products and processes

+ Be a pair partner for functional leaders (engineering, design, product) of the team

+ Facilitate Agile ceremonies including Sprint Planning, Release Planning, Daily Stand-Ups, Sprint Demos, Scrum of Scrums and Sprint Retrospectives

+ Be the champion of transparency in the team and for the team

+ Guides the team in learning to make realistic and achievable delivery commitments so it can deliver with a sustainable cadence

+ Work experience achieving results

+ Understands agile metrics, information radiators, and reporting techniques

+ Experienced in developing close working relationships with all levels of management, especially the functional managers of team members.

+ Exhibit a proven track record of project management, bringing the ability to quickly put structure in place to manage the work- Demonstrate outstanding communication and partnership skills which are essential for interacting and communicating with key stakeholders across all levels to manage, inform, and influence outcomes- Demonstrate organizational agility to adapt to changing demands- Display strong consulting and collaboration skills



**Accountabilities**



+ Team feels empowered to inspect, adapt and be transparent.

+ Efficiently facilitating the meetings

+ Removing impediments

+ Making the team's artifacts (backlogs, burndowns, etc.) visible.



**Basic Qualifications**



+ At least a Bachelor’s Degree or Military experience

+ At least 3 Years Project Management experience

+ At least one year of experience working in an Agile environment



**Preferred Qualifications**



+ MBA

+ 1 year of experience as a product owner

+ 1 year of experience managing a pod in an Agile framework



+ 5 years of Project Management experience

+ 3 years of People Management experience

+ PMP certification OR Lean certification OR Agile certification or Six Sigma certification
