What We Do
Amerigroup is the largest publicly traded health care company focused on serving Medicaid, Medicare and uninsured individuals and families. We improve access to quality health care for the financially vulnerable, seniors and people with disabilities.
Mothers and children on Medicaid have historically been a key population we serve. As our membership and health care offerings grow, we deliver services to an increasing number of elderly, people with disabilities and individuals served by both Medicaid and Medicare.
We are a progressive Fortune 500 company focused on bringing quality health care to the underserved. It's our job to create the programs that make it all possible. Year after year, our associates create more effective ways of taking care of our members' needs. For more information on our company, please see our Fast Facts.
We offer our associates limitless professional growth, the chance to change lives and the opportunity to play key roles in a dynamic industry. Be a part of something big – something that makes a real difference in the world.
What Makes Us Different?
Our Associates live our mission, vision and values. Yet, the pace of day-to-day operations within Amerigroup remains busy. Supported by the latest in cutting-edge technology and business processes, we are committed to staying at the forefront of our industry. This means associates are continually challenged and rewarded for taking initiative.
This distinct pairing of quality and personal accountability can be seen in Amerigroup's most successful associates, from the executive team at headquarters to the thousands of associates that keep nearly 50 individual office locations running smoothly across the United States.
No matter the location, Amerigroup prides itself on being a good corporate citizen. Each health plan is deeply involved in community outreach programs to promote healthier lifestyles and further Amerigroup objectives. Every year, the company sponsors hundreds of fairs, festivals and events that truly enrich the lives of those we touch.
Our associates have a spirit of volunteerism, donating their time and thousands of dollars of school supplies, clothing and medications for various community drives. The Amerigroup Foundation matches associate donations to not-for-profit organizations and provides grants to local organizations serving the financially disadvantaged, seniors and people with disabilities.
We are a Fortune 500 company that has been recognized for achievements in the industry and communities we serve. We also strive to be a leader in environmental sustainability, actively working to minimize our footprint. Amerigroup understands that true success hinges on our ability to responsibly minimize our impact on the environment while continuing to improve the health status of our members.
Our associates are passionate about providing real solutions for the underserved. Help us improve the quality and availability of health care in the United States. Be the solution.
Amerigroup is proud of its diversity, which can be seen not only in the members we serve but also in the varied backgrounds of our associates, in our physical locations from New York to Texas, and especially in the way we have transformed health care for previously under-represented populations.
The diversity of our associates is just one example of our dedicated efforts to connect to the members we serve. Early in 2007, with the formation of our National Advisory Board serving seniors and people with disabilities, Amerigroup continued its efforts to remain on the cutting edge in meeting the needs of diverse populations.
That philosophy translates to our workforce. At Amerigroup, we reward talent and ability above all, and are proud that a large majority of our associates are women and minorities.
