Riverside Behavioral Health Center, a Campus of Riverside Regional Medical Center located in Hampton, Virginia is currently recruiting for a labor pool (as needed) Art Therapist to join their dynamic team of compassionate professionals.

Riverside Behavioral Health Center, an established mental health care provider in Hampton Roads since 1983, provides psychiatric and chemical dependency services to children, adolescents and adults on an outpatient and inpatient basis. We offer a variety of services such as Inpatient Adult Services, Inpatient Child and Adolescent Services, Adolescent Residential Services and Outpatient Services, to individuals who experience emotional, psychological and behavioral problems. Individual, family and group therapy, recreation therapy, art therapy, life skills groups, and medication management are key components of the programs we provide. Job Summary: Works under the supervision of the Program Directors to develop and provide quality art therapy services for patients and residents including individual, family, and group art therapy, art therapy assessment, treatment planning, and documentation. Maintains space, equipment, and supplies for the provision of art therapy services. Actively performs as a member of the interdisciplinary team and demonstrates the knowledge and skills necessary to provide interventions appropriate to the age of the patient or resident served.

Education: Bachelors degree in Art Therapy required, Masters degree in Art Therapy strongly preferred. Masters Degree required for work on the residential program.

Certification: Current BLS is required within 10 days of hire.

Experience: Internship or clinical experience in a hospital or residential setting is preferred.

Hours: This is a labor pool position which works as needed.
