Job Summary: Reports to and serves as primary assistant to the Nurse Manager in the coordination/management of patient care and the organizing, planning, directing, and evaluating of services provided with a core focus on facility and associated departments. Provides leadership, direction and mentorship/support to the staffing needs for the designated specialty area(s). As a Clinical Expert, ensures the provision of clinically competent services by validating staff competency in the provision of a comprehensive range of services/care in accordance with standards of excellence, age-specific and cultural sensitivity established by Riverside Health System and facility goals and strategic plans. Performs other duties as assigned. 

The Assistant Nurse Manager - Cardiac Care Unity will cover 14 MICU beds (avg. daily census of 12.5) and 14 newly created CCU beds (avg. daily census projected to be 6). The Assistant nurse manager will focus on quality, safety, and education including inservice training for unit staff. 

Education: BSN is required.

Licensure/Certification:  CCRN or PCCN  preferred. ACLS preferred. Current and valid RN licensure with eligiblity in Virginia is required.

Experience:  Progressive leadership experience which provided opportunities-develop skills in nursing practice if applies, and/or in application of administrative principles. Concentrated experience in assigned service desirable. Knowledge of regulations, policies, procedures, accreditation standards required. Knowledge of personnel administration, economics, and legislation.

Hours:  Primarily 2nd shift with flexiblity to meet the needs of the deparmtent (i.e. rotation to days and/or nights and weekends based on what is being taught in terms of classes and inservices).
