Job Summary: Works under supervision of the Pastoral Care Department Director. Provides pastoral care to patients of all ages and members of their families. Consults with members of the hospital staff regarding spiritual needs of the patient and family to include the length, type and purpose to the situation. Seeks and provides pertinent information to and / or from other disciplines regarding the care of the patient. Responds to requests for immediate pastoral care and refers to other pastoral care staff or community clergy and / or congregations when appropriate at the request of the patient. Responds timely and provides appropriate intervention in emergency situations to patients, families and staff (i.e. Code Blue, Trauma alerts). Work time consists of both on site pastoral visitation and serving in on-call capacity. Other duties include appropriate medical chart documentation, record of visits and hand-off to other Chaplain staff.

Education: BA/BS required; Master of Divinity Degree or equivalent preferred. Completion of four units of Clinical Pastoral Education required.

Experience: Minimum of 2 years working experience as a Chaplain required, five years preferred. Working experience in a hospital or patient care environment preferred.

Hours: Saturday nights, occasional weeknights, and some days.
