Shore Memorial Hospital is now located in Onancock, Virginia on the Eastern Shore! It is a full-service, fully accredited hospital. The brand new, state of the art facility is a 52-bed hospital with private rooms, a Surgical Suite with three operating rooms, a ten bed Intensive Care Unit, and an advanced Emergency Department with all private treatment rooms. The hospital has expanded the outpatient services to include a diagnostic center with advanced imaging services including MRI and CT scanner, on-campus Cancer Care Center and a freestanding medical office building housing our specialty physician offices.

Job Description: Works under the supervision of Registered Nurse/LPN and Nurse Manager/Director in personal care of the patients and their environment (including those needing special precautions) and performs specified treatments. In addition, this position must be able to demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patient served in assigned unit. The individual must demonstrate knowledge of the principles of growth and development over the life span and provide the care needed as described according to the departmental policy and procedure. Promotes and maintains safe work environment for staff as well as our customers, incorporating national patient safety initiatives.

EDUCATION: High School Diploma or equivalent preferred. Have successfully completed a state board approved nursing assistant program which includes a competency evaluation.

LICENSURE: Current State certification as Nursing Assistant. BLS Healthcare Provide is required.

EXPERIENCE: Prior experience in acute health care setting preferred.

HOURS: Labor Pool; Night Shift
