Job Details

Monday through Friday, 6:45am - 3:30pm. Overtime as needed.

Under  general  supervision,the Chief Maintenance  Management  is responsible  for:
a.Directing  the  work of the Interceptor  Shop  Personnel, Vaccon Crews,and HRA  Interns
b.Integration  and  maintenance of new programs  and  technologies in advancement of  the  interceptor  system 
c.Setting  up  and maintaining the preventative  maintenance program  for all of  HRSD’s interceptor  assets and  equipment.
d.Direct  oversight  and responsibility for the  interceptor  inventory,equipment and  tools,to  include  shop and  pipe yard housekeeping 
e.Overseeing  the  CMMS program to ensure  all  interceptors assets are accurately  cataloged  and recorded and that  all  interceptor work is properly  scheduled  and  documented.
f.Analyzing  CMMS  data to draw conclusions  on preventative maintenance effectiveness  and personnel/staffing needs 
g.Interceptor  Operations  Liaison to the Condition  Assessment  Program and the Engineering  Department’s  Asset  Management Division

Requirements

a.Education
 1.Required 
  a)High School Diploma or GED
  b)Formal Maintenance Trade or Technical Program, Journeyman Card, HRSD Apprenticeship, or equivalent experience/training

 2.Desired
 a)A college level coursework in civil engineering, drafting, surveying, or related technical area 
 b)Formal computer based training to included various data entry and database programs, GIS, Microsoft Office Products, GPS, iPad applications


b.Experience
 1.Required
  a)Minimum five years technical experience in maintenance and operation of large wastewater systems
  b)Experience leading and/or working within teams, planning and implementing work projects and schedules 
  c)Experience in one or more of the construction trades 
  d)Demonstrated experience using a preventative maintenance or CMMS system
  e)High computer competency and able to use multiple databases and programs
  f)or a combination of experience and training, which provides the required minimum knowledge for accountabilities and expectations to be met


c.Job-specific Technical Competencies
Required
a)Thorough knowledge of the principles of operating and maintaining a large wastewater collection system, with a focus on pump station and underground pipeline maintenance and repair
b)Broad functional knowledge of interceptor systems, sanitary sewer collection systems, pumping stations, force mains, and construction practices related thereto 
c)Ability to develop highly effective working relationships with all HRSD Managers, Engineers, and operational employees
d)Extensive knowledge of HRSD programs for the preventive maintenance of the interceptor systems, proper repair techniques for system failures, and maintenance program administration
e)Knowledge of mechanical equipment and systems
f)Ability to plan schedules and manage multiple tasks 
g)Knowledge of regulations that apply to the position
h)Ability to interpret test and inspection results, manage tasks necessary to correct deficiencies, prepare reports, file reports electronically, distribute reports as required 
i)Communication skills, ensuring that project status is shared with all stakeholders
j)Must be able to read and interpret technical data, drawings, and specifications       
k)Computer skills to include database programs, GIS, Microsoft Office Products, GPS, iPad applications


d.Special Licenses
Required
a)Valid Driver’s License from state of residence
b)Valid Commercial Driver’s License (Class A) must be obtained within 6 months of appointment to the position to be fully qualified or may result in removal from the position and potentially employment with HRSD
