Job Summary: Works under the supervision of the office manager, RN and LPN. The certified medical assistant performs a wide range of clinical duties including assisting the physician in providing quality care in a medical office setting. The certified medical assistant must be able to demonstrate the knowledge required to provide age appropriate care for the patients served in the practice, and skills to interpret assessment in relation to principles of growth and development over the life span. In addition, the certified medical assistant must be knowledgeable of health insurance guidelines for pre-authorizations, referral processes, be attentive to scheduling testing and specialist visits within network guidelines, with Spanish-interpreter competencies.
Educational Requirements: Completion of a certified Medical Assistant program required.
Certification/Licensure Requirements: Medical Assistant certification required. Current CPR certification required. Must also have successfully completed training and be certified or registered with an accredited interpreter association or one of the preferred below: Certified Healthcare Interpreter (CCHI) or National Board of Certification for Medical Interpreters (NBCMI)
