Riverside PACE located in Newport News, Virginia is seeking a Full Time Cook to join their team.
JOB SUMMARY: Directs the preparation, seasoning and cooking of salads, soups, fish, meets, vegetables, deserts, or other foods served at the PACE center. Utilizes creativity to assist in creating a wide variety of dishes for the PACE Kitchen. Adheres to dietary restrictions as noted by the dietician. Maintains proper health and sanitary standards to safeguard the health of PACE participants.
EDUCATION: High School graduate or GED equivalent required. Vocational school courses in culinary arts, knowledge of standards and regulations applicable to food preparation and health standards preferred.
CERTIFICATION: Virginia Dept. of Health Food Service Handlers Card is preferred upon hire; must be acquired within 6 months of hire.
EXPERIENCE: One year experience with the frail and elderly population preferred. Experience in food preparation to include baking and broiling (minimum of 2 years) required.
HOURS: 7:00 am - 3:30 pm Monday - Friday
