Counselor, Substance Use Disorder - Opioid Treatment Program

Manages a predetermined caseload in an outpatient opioid treatment facility setting which involves the assessment and evaluation of incoming clients, individual, group and family counseling, educational sessions and discharge/aftercare planning for clients with substance use disorder problems.  Duties include intake assessment, diagnosis, treatment planning, record keeping, drug education, case management, crisis intervention, and discharge planning, referral of appropriate offenders, individual/family/group counseling, educational sessions, and liaison duties between the criminal justice system and substance use disorder treatment agencies.

Salary: $40,658.05

Work Schedule: Requires some evening and early morning hours.


Bachelor's Degree in Human Services AND Certification as a Substance Abuse Counselor (CSAC) by the Virginia Board of Health Professions or by a nationally recognized certification board and one (1) year experience in a substance use disorder and/or correctional setting.
