Cyber Security Graphic Designer

We’re looking for a talented Visual Designer to join our Cyber team to work closely with leadership and full cross-functional team to devise innovative design concepts and production-ready assets that will establish the future vision of Capital One’s Enterprise Cyber Strategy.

Tools like Illustrator, Visio, and PowerPoint are extremely familiar to you. Your sketchbook is your constant companion. You’re passionate about layout, typography, and color and have the expertise and awareness to communicate your design choices. You recognize that visual design optimizes for comprehension, engagement, and contextualization, and you’ve done your research on perception and cognition.

You’re a good fit if you are:

+ A visual problem solver. You understand that good design balances user, business, and technical feasibility needs. You can take complex concepts and communicate them in a simple, elegant, and accessible manner. You are proficient using tools like Illustrator, PowerPoint, and Visio, and can efficiently use your skillset to develop new designs within existing visual systems and design languages.

+ Collaborative. You’re excited to work on a multidisciplinary team and facilitate alignment across different perspectives. You make it your business to know as much as you can about the people you are designing for and make design decisions based on their needs. You display a positive attitude and are excited to share your ideas with the team as well as listen to those of others.

+ A successful juggler. You don’t get overwhelmed or flustered easily. You’re able to keep track of multiple projects at once, manage your time efficiently, and appropriately communicate scheduling with your manager and the broader team.

+ Detail oriented. You’re proud that your production files are always pixel perfect and you’ve thought through every permutation of your designs, making the development or production process smooth sailing.

+ Flexible. You know that projects can adjust at a moment’s notice; you are adaptable and welcome change.

What you’ll bring:

+ A portfolio that highlights strong understanding of design elements such as color, typography, illustration, iconography, photography, and animation.

+ Experience working within established brand guidelines and style guide. Interest in helping govern brand guidelines where needed.

+ Ability to work collaboratively and iteratively within cross-disciplinary teams, as well as ability to work independently.

+ Ability to quickly deliver multiple, inventive ideas that are fresh and simple while solving complex stakeholder needs. Confidence in sharing in-progress work with teammates.

+ Understanding of agile/scrum development process.

Basic qualifications:

+ Bachelor’s degree in Fine Arts or concentration in graphic or web design.

+ At least 4 years of experience in visual design.

Preferred Qualifications:

+ Certification: Adobe CS
