Data Loss Prevention Operations Specialist--Principal Associate



**Security Operations, Data Loss Prevention**



Capital One is seeking a bright, passionate and dedicated individual to join our Security Operations team. This individual will be responsible for support of our Data Loss Prevention program infrastructure. The candidate will report to the Senior Manager for Data Loss Prevention operations and will work closely with the Data Loss Prevention program team and other key stakeholders and operations teams across Capital One. This position will be responsible for supporting multiple enterprise systems protecting Capital One data.



**On any given day, you will:**



+ Tenaciously manage the performance of the Data Loss Prevention (DLP) environment to ensure it is operating at peak performance levels through proactive monitoring/tuning

+ Drive incident and problem resolution as a Tier 2 escalation resource

+ Consult with other technology support groups as part of problem resolution efforts

+ Implement new platforms/designs, code versions, patches, and features to meet lifecycle management and business requirements

+ Serve as mentor and technical resource to more junior associates; train other associates through one-on-one or group technical discussions.

+ Create and/or maintain standard documentation, diagrams and workflow documents

+ Participate in technology integration efforts with engineering and other support teams

+ Provide reporting and metrics to business and management

+ Work on security-related projects, including assessment, design, deployment and configuration of data loss prevention related systems

+ Work within the Cyber Data Security Operations team as well as key partner groups to detect and triage issues

+ Alert stakeholders when events occur that impact the customer experience or system availability

+ Assist with data gathering and ad-hoc analysis

+ Understand the business goals and implement processes that support these goals

+ This position is an operational role. As such, periodic late-night maintenance work and participation in an on-call rotation may be required.



**The successful candidates will possess:**



+ Exceptional interpersonal and verbal/written communication skills, including the ability to document solutions, present ideas to cross-functional teams, and explain operational issue background/root cause to vendors and senior leaders

+ Meticulous attention to detail

+ Superior analytical skills and resourceful problem solver

+ Working knowledge of how to utilize a log reporting tool (e.g., Splunk, Kibana) to extract desired data from log information

+ Excellent experience supporting Windows and Unix servers including hardware refresh, software testing, software upgrades, policy construction, automatic configuration tools, troubleshooting techniques and application functionality issues



**Basic Qualifications:**



+ High school diploma, GED, equivalent certification or military experience

+ At least 3 years of experience in Information Technology or Information Security

+ At least 5 years of experience performing operational support

+ Comptia Security Plus or equivalent certification



**Preferred Qualifications:**



+ Extensive experience with data loss prevention technologies in a large corporate environment

+ OS expertise with Windows and Unix platforms

+ AWS Certified SysOps Administrator, Google Certified Professional - Cloud Architect, or similar cloud operations certification

+ Understanding of Agile Framework and Ceremonies

+ CISSP or CISM or similar certification

+ Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent Information Security experience
