Established in 1982, we are a faith based, non-profit Life Care Community with independent, assisted living and a 5 star nursing care center, and have expanded our lines of business to include Home Health and Hospice as well as management advising services.  

We are recruiting for a strong Human Resources Professional who will lead our human resources strategies and operations.

The Director of Human Resources is a key strategic partner to the Chief Executive Officer, and is responsible for the strategic and tactical leadership of our community's Human Resources philosophy and programs. The Director must partner with departmental leaders and Executive Team members  to work to to achieve high staff engagement and a great work environment for our employees, and will serve other leaders in a collaborative style; exerting influence, and where necessary facilitating accountability.

The Director of Human Resources will also provide service to the Board of Trustees on CEO compensation and benefits matters, and is expected to always demonstrate and model our core values of respect, passion, and professionalism.  Must be willing to assist, or use authority, in holding all others accountable for doing the same

  • Partners with functional leaders across the community to develop and lead an effective Human Resources strategy; ensures the delivery of first class Human Resources services to all community customers.
  • Participates with the management of the community in overall strategic planning and carrying out objectives that support community goals; initiates and ensures appropriate strategies to meet objectives.
  • Develops and oversees implementation of Human Resources related policies and programs that reflect the mission and values of the community, meet the needs of the organization, and are in legal compliance.
  • Actively creates and promotes positive employee related programs and activities, including recognition and reward systems and communications that provide professional and personal support to employees and their families.
  • Ensures employee engagement and satisfaction are periodically measured to ascertain success of programs.
  • Advises senior management on latest trends, developments, and legal requirements affecting employees and the community.
  • Monitors employee related procedures throughout the community to assure consistent quality in hiring, orientation, training, and application of policies.
  • Reviews all benefit and wage programs, working with consultants as needed, to maintain current and competitive programming that attracts and retains quality team members while remaining affordable to the community.
  • Integrates wellness philosophy into benefit programs.
  • Creates and delivers communications and activities that promote employee understanding of goals of the community, include current events in the planning and implementation of those goals, and that provide opportunities for employee input and influence into events where appropriate.
  • Oversees development, implementation. and evaluation of management and leadership development programs to strengthen skills of leaders to meet the current and future needs of the community.
  • Fosters partnerships with educational institutions to provide benefits and perquisites to staff members.
  • Prepares and monitors comprehensive Human Resources capital and operations budgets to ensure financial resources are available to support agreed upon Human Resources strategies.
  • Promotes financial stewardship within department and requests strategic variances when appropriate to support programs.
  • Advises employees with regard to human resources policies and problem solving alternatives; mediates conflict and facilitates problem solving among team members, as required.
  • Serves as liaison to Board of Trustees on executive compensation and benefits matters.
  • Consults with legal counsel and external consultants as needed.
  • Ensures effective and efficient Human Resources information systems support the goals and objectives of the community.


  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Human Resources Management, or similar related to position or equivalent experience
  • Several years of demonstrated growth and leadership in Human Resources or related field
  • Positive, forward thinking, and strategically focused with the ability to align Human Resources initiatives to the corporate objectives
  • Strong operational focus and proven ability to manage Human Resources functional areas
  • Knowledge of Human Resources laws and regulations
  • Excellent written communication skills with the ability to prepare reports, presentations, project documents, etc.
  • Excellent organizational skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines
  • Demonstrated skills in using software products such as office solutions, HRIS, email, and calendaring
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office software and Google applications.
  • Strong interpersonal, management, and leadership skills.
  • Conflict resolution, problem solving, and mediation skills.
  • Demonstrated flexibility, perseverance, and multi-tasking skills.
  • Demonstrated excellence in public speaking and presentation skills.
