**External Job Description:**



The IT Systems Engineer is responsible for the analysis, design and implementation of solutions that meet the business needs of the customer. The individual will follow the Systems Development Life Cycle process and perform requirements analysis, specification development, system design and testing associated with implementation and support of SAP HR systems, including integration with other SAP modules, COTS, and legacy systems. The individual needs the ability to work with and lead teams consisting of project management, systems engineers, technical resources, process leads, and system users to ensure the effective and efficient delivery of business process enhancements.



Primary Duties:

• Identify and implement solutions to broad, complex, and critical customer challenges and issues using a high degree of insight, research, and analytical skills, to develop new or enhanced methods and techniques to resolve problems.

• Contribute to the overall planning of projects. Leverage lifecycle implementation experience to anticipate changes required in project plans and processes. Effectively communicate issues and alternative solutions. Takes initiative to achieve valued-added results and improve upon solutions offered.

• Provide all required Systems Engineering deliverables, such as writing requirements, documentation architecture, and testing.

• Lead small work teams (2-6 professionals) on medium and large scale projects. Manage project scope and customer expectations. Plan and organize the work of the team and ensure that accepted project methodology, techniques, tools and solutions are being followed. Monitor and report on project status.

• Develop and foster collaborative working relationships with the customer, project managers and team members. Ensure the successful implementation of assigned projects through the entire project lifecycle. Deliver quality products on time and within budget.

Performs technical planning, system integration, verification and validation, cost and risk, and supportability and effectiveness analyses for total systems. Analyses are performed at all levels of total system product to include: concept, design, fabrication, test, installation, operation, maintenance and disposal. Ensures the logical and systematic conversion of customer or product requirements into total systems solutions that acknowledge technical, schedule, and cost constraints. Performs functional analysis, timeline analysis, detail trade studies, requirements allocation and interface definition studies to translate customer requirements into hardware and software specifications.

• PhD plus 4 years of experience

• Master’s degree plus 7 years of experience

• Bachelor’s degree plus 9 years of experience or 13 years of exempt related experience in lieu of the degree

• High School diploma plus 21 years’ related non-exempt experience

**Preferred Qualifications:**



• Demonstrated proactive technical leadership of IT implementations

• Demonstrated strong facilitation skills and IT systems design experience

• In-depth experience of SAP HR Modules, including EH&S

• Extensive business process and functional knowledge

• Understanding of COTS implementations and application development

• Understanding of multi-system interfaces

• Demonstrated use of the Systems Development Life Cycle process

• Previous implementation experience with .NET, Java, SharePoint products is a plus.

• The ability to organize and manage large network centric projects.

• Experience using Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint and Visio required.
