Enterprise Payments Risk Manager



Risk Managers at Capital One are highly motivated Risk Management professionals with excellent organizational and communication skills. They have a high level of exposure across lines of business and the opportunity to work with Executives to create and implement innovative solutions to identify and mitigate potential risks to the Company. Specifically, as an Enterprise Payments Risk Manager will support the Director of Enterprise Payments Risk in building an effective second line of defense program across Capital One to identify, track, and resolve payment risks, issues, and events. The Enterprise Payments Risk Manager will have a key role in 1) developing and maintaining enterprise-wide policies and standards, inclusive of industry and regulatory mandates; 2) identifying and implementing control testing strategies, and 3) analyzing and reporting on critical emerging payment risks, trends, and digital technologies. The role will also serve as a subject matter expert in key payment processes and systems across Capital One; engaging on key projects and initiatives to effectively challenge risk decisions and priorities.



**Responsibilities:**



- Provide effective challenge and consulting across lines of business and staff functions to support the Enterprise Payments Risk Governance framework



- Design and implement internal payments governance processes, including developing and maintaining policies and standards and applying testing and validation routines



- Review payments data and perform substantial risk analysis during development of quarterly risk reporting



- Track issues and events, and consult on appropriate remediation plans



- Engage in industry forums and monitor emerging technologies for impact to payment processes and control programs



- Manage, implement and deliver on a subset of the program deliverables, including validation of adherence to the Decentralized Operations Model



**Basic Qualifications:**



- High school diploma, GED or Military experience



- At least 3 years of Financial Services Risk Management Experience



- At least 5 years of Project Management experience



- At least 5 years of experience supporting, partnering and interacting with internal business clients



**Preferred Qualifications:**



- 7+ years of Project Management experience leading cross functional projects and programs in Risk



- 5+ years of Financial Services risk management, audit, or operations experience, including experience with wholesale and retail payment systems and processes



- Accredited ACH Professional or Accredited Payments Risk Professional (or similar)



- Ability to set direction, manage expectations and lead cross-functional teams
