Riverside Health System is seeking Registered Nurses to join our float pool team at Riverside Regional Medical Center in Newport News, Virginai! We currently have opportunities available in Medical Surgical, Critical Care, and Emergency Department. The float pool offers a premium pay rate and flexible scheduling.

Job Summary: Works under the supervision of the Nurse manager and the Director and is responsible for the assessment, planning,implementing, and evaluating the total nursing care of assigned patients. The Float Pool Critical Care RN may work in a variety of settings to include, SICU, MICU, OICU, and CVT. The RN utilizes communication, critical thinking, problem solving, and decision making to create a care plan for each patient based on physiological, psychosocial and cultural diversity. Responsible for supervising and delegating non-professional personnel working directly with him/her to ensure optimum patient care. Must demonstrate competence in dealing with age related needs of specific patient populations served in their assigned unit/dept. Works under the direction of leadership and a multi-disciplinary team to provide a comprehensive range of services or clinical care associated with and in accordance with standards of excellence established by Riverside Health system and facility goals and strategic plans.

Education:      BSN is required or must be obtained within 5 years of the start date in the position. 

 

Licensure:       Required to be licensed as a Registered Nurse in State of Virginia or Compact State. Must have or obtain prior to starting BLS. ACLS and/or PALS may also be required per departmental requirements.

 

Experience:    Two years of experience in an acute care setting is required.
