Newport News Shipbuilding offers internships which allow students to gain experience in engineering and provides the opportunity to possibly gain future full time employment. Some engineering positions may require the ability to physically access a wide variety of work sites, including those aboard ships under various stages of construction or overhaul, including the use of vertical and inclined ladders, and may involve limited kneeling, stooping, standing, etc.



This internship is open to college Freshman or above which are part of the eShip/iShip program and seeking an internship in engineering, engineering technology, information technology or a related field.

**Basic Qualifications:**



1. Must have been accepted and active in the eShip / iSHIP program.

2. Must be enrolled and majoring in an accredited college engineering or computer program.

3. Have a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.7 or higher (must submit Official transcripts)

4. Attend a college/university (undergraduate or graduate program) in the Fall following the internship.

5. Work a 40-hour work week for a minimum of 8 weeks during the summer
