Riverside Health System is currently seeking a full-time Lead Pharmacist in Charge at our facility in Charlottesville, VA.

Job Summary: Serves as the team leader for staff pharmacists, technicians, inventory, logistics, and customer service. Provides administrative support to staff with in the pharmacy. Ensures compliance with all applicable laws and regulations for the pharmacy. Develops and maintains pharmacy policy and procedures. Works with manager/director on pharmacy related issues. Supervises and performs dispensing and packaging of pharmaceuticals according to prescription, physician order or stock request. Works with staff to monitor patient profiles to assure appropriate dosage and therapy. Provides up to date drug information. Demonstrates the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age group of the patients served. Possess and works with pharmacy staff on skills and ability to assess data reflective of patients status and to interpret this information and identify the patients' needs in relation to age specific requirements. Performs other duties as assigned.

Education: BS or Pharm D from an accredited school of pharmacy.

Certification/Licensure: Registration with the Virginia Board of Pharmacy in good standing required. Need to have CGP certification (Certified Geriatric Pharmacist), or willing to obtain CGP within 12-18 months of date of hire. Current, valid driver's license and acceptable driving record required upon hire and to be maintained during employment. Must also have reliable transportation to travel to facilities.

Experience: Must have one year previous work experience working with the frail and elderly. Strong clinical pharmacy experience desired. Hospital pharmacy experience preferred. Geriatric experience highly desirable. Must be able-read and comprehend, manipulate numbers, and interpret data. Comprehensive knowledge of medication use process.
