Lecturer – Human Resources/Organizational Behavior
Department of Management
Old Dominion University
To begin August 2017.  Responsibilities include (1) teaching human resource and organizational behavior courses (regular classroom, online, and distance learning settings); and (2) significant service to the department and the university (advising students and student clubs, assessment, and coordinating activities with the student chapter of the Society for Human Resource Management, SHRM).


Minimum qualifications include: MBA / MS (from an AACSB accredited institution), current SHRM Senior Certified Professional (SHRM-SCP) or HRCI Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR) certification, recent mid- to senior-level managerial experience that involved human resource management; and university-level teaching experience in human resource management courses.  Preference will be given to candidates with experience in a specialized area of human resource management (e.g., recruitment, training), and membership in SHRM.
Old Dominion University is located in the Norfolk – Virginia Beach metropolitan area (in the greater Hampton Roads), with a population of about 1.5 million.  The area is rich in recreational and cultural activities.  Washington, DC is only three hours away, and Norfolk has one of the best natural harbors on the East Coast.  Old Dominion University is an internationally-oriented, state-supported institution of over 24,000 diverse students.  The Strome College of Business offers AACSB-accredited undergraduate, MBA, and Ph.D. degrees (including a Ph.D. degree in Strategic Management).  The Department of Management consists of a collegial group of faculty who are championing exciting initiatives to increase research impact and engagement with the business community.
