Information Technology Services (ITS) at Old Dominion University is seeking a full-time

Manager for our Desktop Technology Support Program who will provide technical knowledge in support of the University’s computing environment through research, implementation and configuration of desktop, laptops, portable client devices and user applications in a client/server environment, as well as the management of large-scale systems in a client/server environment. Position will supervise technical support staff assigned to administrative and academic desktop support by providing technical direction, personnel support and project prioritization.

Position requires considerable knowledge of: Microsoft computer hardware and software troubleshooting and resolution; Apple computer hardware and software troubleshooting and resolution; and Active Directory, group policy management, image management, system patching and associated hardware and software with appropriate system practices. Microsoft Certified Professional (MCP)/Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer (MCSE) or equivalent knowledge is required. Preferred qualifications include: A+ Hardware Certification and experience with system scripting, power shell and/or basic computer programming in languages such Java or C++.
