Manager, Selection Consulting



As a Selection Consultant, you’ll be part of Capital One’s Talent Management organization working closely with our Line of Business executives, HR leadership, Recruiting partners and other Industrial and Organizational Psychologists to design and deliver innovative selection strategies to support our shared business goals. You’ll be responsible for designing, validating and implementing assessment tools and processes that help ensure Capital One secures top talent across our enterprise.



Our ideal candidate will display a strong balance of analytical and problem solving skills, business consulting and communication competencies as well as the ability to work in a dynamic team environment. You’ll be a subject matter expert regarding the assessment industry, professional standards, employee selection policies and best practices, test validation methods and models, and innovative assessment solutions. You’ll consult with business leadership to ensure our selection strategies meet business needs and will lead large scope projects to deliver improved selection processes.



As a Selection Manager, your main role will be to:



+ Consult with line of business leaders and recruiting partners to understand selection needs and develop a strategy to meet those needs

+ Communicate a business case to gain support for your ideas and influence change in selection strategies, practices, and processes

+ Design, develop and validate practical, effective, defensible and candidate-friendly selection tools and processes

+ Lead the effective and efficient delivery of projects specific to a line of business or enterprise-wide

+ Manage and conduct job analyses, test validation and other selection related projects

+ Provide thought leadership on talent acquisition best practices; train and coach HR associates and hiring teams on selection practices and tools, as needed



Basic Qualifications:



+ A Master's degree in Industrial and Organizational Psychology

+ At least 3 years of experience in employee selection experience in a corporate environment

+ At least 3 years of experience developing, validating and implementing pre-employment assessments

+ At least 3 years of experience in research and data analysis using Microsoft Excel

+ At least 2 years of experience using Microsoft PowerPoint

+ At least 2 years of experience in business consulting

+ At least 2 years of experience in project management



Preferred Qualifications:



+ PhD in Industrial and Organizational Psychology

+ At least 2 years of experience in managing vendor relationships

+ At least 1 year of experience with SPSS
