Description: ADP is hiring a Software Engineer Manager- Siebel. In this position you will lead and manage a team of people involved in applying technology to achieve a software-based solution supporting ADP's company goals. RESPONSIBILITIES:
* Recruits, hires and retains qualified people. Maintains budgeted staffing levels.
* Ensures that team members receive adequate technical, product and effectiveness/skills training to enable them to contribute to the success of the product and to equip each Associate for ongoing professional development.
* Coaches and counsels the team to facilitate the growth and effectiveness of both the group and its individuals.
* Monitors performance and provides frequent feedback to team members to increase technical and product related skills, as well as individual effectiveness.
* Initiates additional training (seminars, special courses, etc.) as needed.
* Matches project work to team members to meet the needs of the organization.
* From the Associates' standpoint, work distribution should be based on skill level, interests and workload balancing.
* Schedules project work appropriately so that new and creative ideas can be reasonably incorporated into the product design.
* Promotes the group's quality policy.
* Consistently produces quality work and continuously promotes an awareness of and requirements for quality work from all team members.
* Develops standards and procedures and assures that these are consistent with overall company standards and procedures.
* Follows, improves and ensures team adherence to procedures.
* Seeks out and promotes innovation among team members.
* Cultivates new ideas and nurtures their development, presentation and adoption.
* Encourages team to participate in the software industry, for example by attending seminars, conferences, trade shows and other activities as appropriate.
* Identifies, recognizes and rewards exceptional performance, using established compensation programs.
* Works with Human Resources to use, customize and improve reward and recognition programs.
* Represents the Division IT organization to other organizations, such as Marketing, Product Management, Education Services, Publication Services, Client Support, as well as to other ADP entities, such as Corporate, Employer Services, Processing Centers, Task Forces, other product development teams, etc.
* Speaks effectively to audiences concerning areas of expertise.
* Facilitates, supports and coordinates activities between these departments and maintains two-way communications with these departments to promote collaborative problem-solving and goal attainment.
* Sometimes fulfills the role of project manager, responsible for the specification, development and maintenance of new and existing product releases.
* Develops project plans, including design specifications, task lists, schedules, resources requirements and other planning items as required to assure that projects are carried out in a timely and successful manner.
* Coordinates activities of the project team with other teams and departments to assure that all company requirements are met.
* Works with management and other departments to promote a good knowledge of project plans, schedules, progress and status.
* Obtains approval on all project work.
* Tracks project progress against approved plans and schedules, identifies variance and reports them along with recommended action to management to assure that project goals are met.
* Assures that both product target cost and schedule requirements are met, along with project budget requirements.
* Verifies that requirements are met by constantly reviewing project process and assures that good rule and practices are being followed.
* Assures that adequate documentation and analyses are being developed during the development cycle to confirm that project goals are being met.
* Incorporates test-ability, documentation, maintain-ability, etc. throughout development life cycle phases.
* Applies established procedures and development life cycle to need of the project.
* Perform other tasks and uphold other responsibilities as assigned by the Head of Division IT.
* Performs all of the above within established budget. QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:
* Four year degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics, Business Administration or equivalent.
* 10+ years of Siebel CRM experience
* A minimum of four years experience in managing software-related application development, or equivalent team lead experience. #LITECH #cb#
