Riverside Tappahannock Hospital located in Tappahannock, Virginia is currently seeking a Temporary Labor Pool Courier/Materials Handler to join our team.
JOB SUMMARY: Provides materials management support for key Supply Chain activities and initiatives with split duties between the courier department and distribution. This position performs a wide range of duties as directed by the materials management coordinator/supervisor necessary to coordinate purchasing, replenishment of stock supplies and inventory management including receiving, warehouse, logistics and inventory management for the Riverside Tappahannock Hospital. Additionally this position is responsible for coordinating pick-ups and deliveries of a variety of items including, interdepartmental mail, U. S. mail, parcels, packages, lab items, pharmacy items, blood and tissue samples, supplies, x-rays, and any other items as directed for the Northern Neck. This individual will: Key and fill departmental requisitions/picklist/exchange carts daily. Pull and deliver material to the requesting user/department. Break down stock into unit of issue and place items in proper storage area/par closet in a "FIFO" method. Extract critical reports and replenish all PARs with needed supplies from PAR Excellence Computer. Count and replenish PARs using handheld computer. Utilize the Lawson Materials Management Information System to key, extract information and print documents. Conduct periodic cycle counts with assistance from other Materials Management staff. Record stock out/low level product situations as designated within storeroom. Pick and fill over the counter and departmental requisitions accurately. Fully cross train in all areas of the distribution process for the OR Storeroom and Central distribution. Drive a company vehicle on pre-described daily routes to specific Riverside facilities or other facilities as directed by dept. supervisor. Be responsible for daily, weekly and monthly routine vehicle maintenance and notify the supervisor of any necessary unscheduled maintenance. Procure any maintenance documentation and receipts and ensure they are maintained in the fleet maintenance record. Provide fill-in back up duties for other couriers as requested. Notify supervisor of any route changes or deviations from pre-described daily routes. Attend all in-service, departmental, or update meetings as required. Maintain up to date yearly testing and in-service education. Assist in other areas of Materials Management as required and performs other assigned tasks as needed.
EDUCATION: High School Diploma or GED required. Successful candidates will be required to pass a basic functions math test.
LICENSURE: Valid Drivers License with acceptable driving record.
EXPERIENCE: Courier/driving experience highly desired. Inventory and stockroom experience preferred.
