Riverside Regional Medical Center located in Newport News, Virginia a Nurse Manager to lead our nursing team on our Hospitalist Unit. 

We are seeking a seasoned charge nurse or manager to lead a high energy, self-driven team. This is a geography based hospitalist unit with highly focused care of med/surg patients. Typical nurse to patient ratio is 5:1.  We are seeking candidates with a strong focus on quality, compassionate care, and customer service. Must be comfortable building strong relationships with hospitalists and other key stakeholders within the facility. Riverside Regional Medical Center is a Pathway to Excellence designated hospital. 

Job Summary: Responsible for integration of the nursing process to include, coordination/management of patient care and the organizing, planning, directing, and evaluating of Services provided with a core focus on Facility and associated departments. Provides leadership, direction and mentorship/support to the staffing needs for the designated specialty area(s). As a Clinical Expert, ensures the provision of clinically competent services by validating staff competency in the provision of a comprehensive range of services/care in accordance with standards of excellence, age-specific and cultural sensitivity established by Riverside Health System and facility goals and strategic plans. Performs other duties as assigned.

Education: BSN is required or must be willing to obtain within specified timeframe. MSN is preferred.  

Certifications: Licensed or eligible by the state of Virginia as an RN. ACLS Certification preferred.

Experience Requirements: Progressive leadership experience which provided opportunities to develop skills in nursing practice if applies, and/or in application of administrative principles. Concentrated experience in assigned service desirable. Knowledge of regulations, policies, procedures, accreditation standards required. Knowledge of personnel administration, economics, and legislation.
