Riverside Regional Medical Center is seeking Nurse Manager to join our SICU team! 

This position will cover both  MICU (14 beds) and CCU (brand new unit--projected census of 6, but 14 bed capacity).  Both units are set to transition to 18-bed units in the newly constructed 4th and 5th floors of our new Pavilion with a target of June 2018 for move in.  This is an exciting time to join a leadership team with opportunity for growth clinically as well as scope. SICU is an 18 bed unit with 57 FTE's.  The manager will be supported  by an Assistant Nurse Manager for SICU as well as a n educator who supports SICU as well as MICU and CCU.

Job Summary: Responsible for integration of the nursing process to include, coordination/management of patient care and the organizing, planning, directing, and evaluating of Services provided with a core focus on Facility and associated departments. Provides leadership, direction and mentorship/support to the staffing needs for the designated specialty area(s). As a Clinical Expert, ensures the provision of clinically competent services by validating staff competency in the provision of a comprehensive range of services/care in accordance with standards of excellence, age-specific and cultural sensitivity established by Riverside Health System and facility goals and strategic plans. Performs other duties as assigned.

Education: BSN is required.

Licensure/Certifications: Current and valid RN licensure with eligibility in Virginia is required.  CCRN or PCCN is preferred. 


  • Progressive leadership experience which provided opportunities to develop skills in nursing practice and in application of administrative principles is required. 
  • Concentrated experience in ICU or critical care is essential to be successful in this role. 
  • Knowledge of regulations, policies, procedures, accreditation standards required. 
  • Knowledge of personnel administration, economics, and legislation is required.

 Hours: Day shift M-F with variation as needed
