Property Management firm seeks Part-time senior adult Activity Coordinator seeks out special and individualized opportunities to add to the resident experience at a Norfolk, VA housing community. This role helps to foster a sense of community by creating a meaningful and fun environment with planned activities that will appeal to the residents of the community. The Activity Coordinator will work under the direction of the Property Manager to plan, coordinate and execute various activities on-site as well as group outings in accordance with all Fair Housing, Equal Opportunity and Virginia Landlord Tenant Act laws.



  1. Promote, coordinate and implement approved resident activities

  2. Provide programs and events that encourage engagement and socialization to help support high quality of life for the residents

  3. Encourage and motivate residents to attend or join planned activities

  4. Create the environment for each event that designates it separate from another activity.

  5. Involve and oversee both those who live and work in the community to host and assist with events

  6. Work with local agencies and volunteers to assist with services and support

  7. Create opportunities for positive spontaneous occurrences to happen

  8. Be responsive to the needs of those who live, visit and work in our community

  9. Willingness to spend time “setting the mood” for all events and activities. All decorations should be consistent with the theme and respect for the dignity of adults

  10. Create experiences and entertainment of the same level you would expect that goes well beyond BINGO.

  11. Assist in implementing and maintaining a budget for plan activities

  12. Manage program supply inventory

  13. Create a monthly calendar with approved planned events

  14. Perform general administrative duties at the request of the Property Manager




  1. High School Graduate or GED

  2. Enthusiasm, good attitude, trustworthiness, personal integrity and honesty

  3. Flexibility to work various hours to support planned activities

  4. Public speaking experience – ability to speak clearly and passionately while motivating people

  5. Strong organizational skills

  6. Proficient computer skills

  7. Solid communication skills

  8. Knowledge of event planning practices and techniques

  9. A minimum of two (2) years’ experience working with senior citizens preferred  


Bending, kneeling, stretching, climbing stairs and ladders, squatting, and lifting to fifteen (15) pounds.



Running and lifting over fifteen (15) pounds
