Patient Accounting Manager, Revenue Cycle




Full Time

Day Shift

M-F 8 am to 5 pm

High School/GED
1 year of experience required

Works under the supervision of the Vice President of Revenue Cycle (LLH) and/or the System Director Patient Accounting (Acute/RMG).  This manager will serve as a leader and role model for the department by displaying a positive, patient centered, and solution oriented approach and attitude. Responsibilities include managing systems, systems integrity, department operations, processes, staffing, and the financial results of the department. Accounting functions include preparation of monthly journal entries, deferred revenue calculation, bad debt entries, etc.  Must be able to professionally and effectively represent the Revenue Cycle department with other RHS Departments. Responsible for leading day-to-day operations of department; participates in the development and delivery of staff education, training and orientation. Sets the example for the department as the expert in accurate, thorough and effective work processes. Manages department workload, special projects; identifies issues and develops action plans to correct; reports trends to appropriate departments. Monitors staff productivity that indicates timeliness and accuracy of tasks. Provides day to day coaching and development of team members.  Must demonstrate strong problem solving skills, high attention to detail and an aptitude for learning.  Ensures departmental adherence to policies and procedures, provides on going analysis of departmental practices and results, recommends, develops and implements process improvements as indicated. Responsible for staff schedules, individual performance evaluations, employee issues and administers disciplinary action when necessary. Performs other duties as required.



High School Diploma & 3+ years' experience Rev. Cycle Management Required (As a Team Lead, Analyst or Supervisor) or

High School Diploma & 4+ years' experience Revenue Cycle Required or BS Degree & 4+ years' experience Revenue Cycle Required

or Master's Degree & 1+ years' experience (Master's Degree also counts for 1 additional year experience)               


Certification: A Revenue Cycle Specific Certification Required w/in 2 years (Example: CHAM – Certified Healthcare Access Manager, CPAM –Certified Patient Accounting Manager, CRCS (Certified Revenue Cycle Specialist)


Experience: Strong understanding of department policies and procedures. Ability to identify issues / trends and input corrective action, display strong team building ability required. Detailed analytical ability, strong problem solving skills, positive and clear communication skills, leadership ability are all required. Proficient use of Microsoft Excel and Word required. Microsoft Access proficiency preferred.
