Principal Accounting Associate



Capital One is looking to hire a Principal Associate in the Controller’s Accounting Department supporting the impaired loan functions. This role requires a combination of accounting expertise and financial analysis. Primary responsibilities support management’s processing, reporting, and analysis of acquired loans (“SOP 03-3”).



Additional responsibilities include:

• Preparing quarterly reports for internal management and external SEC and Regulatory reporting

• Leading and engaging upstream input providers to understand the impacts of their processes on our overall impaired loan disclosures

• Performing analytics to assess the accuracy and appropriateness of reports

• Executing SOX and operating controls as part of delivering reports

• Submitting, managing and testing business requirements for the impaired loans team in support of acquisitions and conversions



Basic Qualifications:



- 5 years of accounting or 5 years of finance or 5 years of audit experience



- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance



Preferred Qualifications:



- Certified Public Accountant (CPA) designation



- Experience with Accounting Systems such as Peoplesoft, SmartView/Essbase



- Strong problem solving skills and ability to troubleshoot issues
