Capital One is looking to hire a Principal Associate in the Controller’s Accounting Department supporting the Credit Accounting function. This role requires a combination of accounting expertise and financial analysis. Primary responsibilities support management’s reporting and analysis of the allowance for loan loss (ALLL) and troubled debt restructurings (“TDR”).



Additional responsibilities include:



+ Preparing quarterly TDR reports for internal management and external SEC and Regulatory reporting

+ Consolidating and communicating TDR results to stakeholders on a quarterly basis

+ Analyzing quarterly TDR loss reserves models received from various line of business partners

+ Leading and engaging upstream input providers to understand the impacts of their processes on our overall TDR and allowance disclosures

+ Expanding the analytics performed to assess the accuracy and appropriateness of reports received from multiple lines of business

+ Executing SOX and operating controls as part of the ALLL process and TDR reports

+ Submitting, managing and testing business requirements for the TDR team in support of acquisitions and conversions

+ Supporting ALLL compliance activities for management, internal audit and external audit groups

+ Leveraging new and existing technologies to enhance reporting and analytics,

+ Lead process excellence initiatives and risk assessments of TDR reporting processes

+ Oversee and facilitate activities conducted throughout the enterprise, to support the abovementioned responsibilities. **Basic Qualifications:** • Bachelor’s Degree or military experience• At least 4 years accounting experience or at least 4 years of finance experience or at least 4 years of audit experience **Preferred Qualifications:** • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance or Business• Certified Public Accounting, (CPA) certification• 4+ Years accounting, finance or audit experience• 2+ years experience in supporting credit accounting/reporting or external reporting processes• Strong Track Record of building relationships within accounting and other areas of an organization• Experience with Accounting Systems such as Peoplesoft, Essbase or Oracle Financials
