Principal Associate, Experience Designer – Analyst Internship Program



The Campus Development Programs team in HR Enterprise Learning & Talent Development is seeking a Principal Associate, Experience Designer who will be responsible for the design, development and continuous improvement of the Analyst Internship Program (AIP). The AIP is one of Capital One’s most highly visible programs and is our main source for campus-hire Product Management & Analyst talent. We’re looking for a talented individual who is passionate about analytics, UX, technology and shaking up the way we work to deliver an incredible experience on this high-impact program. The program targets undergraduates from the best colleges and universities in the nation and provides them an incredible 10 week experience focusing on valuable technical and analytical skills and professional development. It also exposes them to the company’s most senior leaders and includes an unforgettable retreat experience.



The success of the program is widely recognized both internally and externally. In 2017, the AIP was ranked Vault.com’s #3 top financial services internship and #7 best internship overall based on intern reviews.



The Experience Designer is responsible for developing and maintaining strong relationships with business partners, company leaders and subject matter experts to weave the content and agenda into a meaningful experience that makes interns emerge from their 10 weeks with us as powerful promoters of our brand. The AIP experience is a catalyst that has fueled the success of many of Capital One’s more recent leaders. Creating this experience requires a ton of work, but it is an incredible thing to be a part of.



**In this role you will:**



+ Have an analytic mindset. You can connect the dots between data and use those takeways to make experiences and outcomes better for our users. You’re hyper-focused on what the company needs to continue to be successful as well as what competitors are doing to attract top talent.

+ Be a uniter. You will bring people from all over the company (from our most senior executives to our newest hires) together for a common goal and you will inspire people to want to travel with you on this journey.

+ Be high energy and super engaged. We’ve only got 10 weeks to get to know these talented students and give them a great experience.

+ Work closely with the larger Enterprise Learning & Talent Development Team to ensure a cohesive learning experience in context of other learning and development initiatives

+ Define product direction, prioritize and manage features that will deliver best of class experiences for our interns.

+ Measure impact. You will identify the meaningful measurement for the product, track and iterate accordingly sharing with stakeholders.

+ Facilitate learning with groups of 50+ new hires and present to Sr. leaders.



Here’s what you’ll need to be successful:



+ Blend of strategic and tactical thinking, creative and analytic reasoning

+ Serve as subject matter expert, contributing practitioner, thought leader, career guide and mentor to teams

+ Exceptional communication skills

+ Collaborative, team player attitude with the ability to navigate and influence the organization.

+ Regularly and systematically use data to uncover opportunities, track product performance, and drive decision making

+ Ability to combine a strong quantitative background to support data-informed decision making with gut-based decisions

+ Entrepreneurial ability to identify and prioritize opportunities in highly ambiguous contexts

+ Support and contribute to program curriculum strategy and development (learning events, networking)

+ Manage and implement all program development modules, continuing collaborating with Program Coordinator to ensure effective management of program

+ Set strategy for program dates, space needs and required resources

+ Prepare executive speakers and instructors for the learning events

+ Industry or hobbyist experience with emerging and leading technologies and learning approaches across disciplines (IoT, Machine Learning, Voice interfaces, self-directed, game-based, etc)

+ Track record of defining strategy, creating advocacy/alignment and being accountable for outcomes



**Basic Qualifications:**



- Bachelor’s Degree or military experience



- At least 3 years of experience in Human Resources OR at least 3 years of experience in Product Management



- At least 1 year program management experience



**Preferred Qualifications:**



- 4+ Years experience in HR or Product Management



- People leadership experience



- Intellectual curiosity



- Passion for learning and helping others learn
