Process Manager, Legal Operations



**Description:**



Capital One Legal Operations is dedicated to enabling the Capital One Legal Department to be the highest performing and most efficient legal department possible. The Legal Operations team aims at accomplishing this goal by focusing on three key areas: 1) efficient processes and current technology; 2) easy access to data analytics and reporting; and 3) a robust supplier management program. In addition to providing these things, the Legal Operations team is looked to as thought leaders, problem solvers, and strategic partners for the Capital One Legal Department.



Capital One Legal Operations is seeking a new member to join the team! This role will provide experience in data analytics, process management, and project management; and will provide an invaluable opportunity to an individual seeking operations experience in the legal industry.



This position will primarily support the Data Analytics team and leverage both analytic and technical skills to innovate, build, and maintain well-managed data solutions. The primary function of the Data Analytics team is to provide reporting and analysis for the Legal Department, including volume/spend metrics, portfolio management figures, and data validation. The team produces deliverables ranging from weekly operational reports for Legal, to quarterly reports for business stakeholders across the Enterprise. This role is also a key performer in the identification and implementation of process improvements; the development of new metrics and leading indicators; the preparation of ad-hoc analysis requests from customers. Primary customers include Lead Attorneys and Specialists in Legal, line of business partners across the Enterprise, as well as partners in Finance, Audit, and Compliance.



This role will also work closely with the Legal Innovation Lab. This group within the Legal Operations team focuses on technology and process improvements across the entire Legal Department. This group works regularly with our internal Tech team to build, enhance, or purchase technology tools to enhance the way we work. The Legal Innovation Lab also dedicates time to drive process improvements throughout the department.



**Job responsibilities:**



+ Create reporting and analysis deliverables for Capital One's Legal Department

+ Control and monitor reporting process, data quality, and data accuracy

+ Understand customer needs and provide appropriate solutions to achieve desired outcome

+ Build relationships and collaborate with key stakeholders

+ Manage or assist with Legal Innovation Lab projects

+ Lead or assist with process improvement projects across the Legal Department

+ May perform process development and/or re-engineering

+ May provide customer service or training to users on process updates or rollouts

+ May assist with development and maintenance of formal process documentation

+ Plan and execute projects, including develop project plans, manage project schedules, maintain project documentation, identify risks, and facilitate project meetings

+ Ensure project deliverables, timelines and budgets are met



**The successful candidate will have:**



+ Proficient in MS Office Suite Products, with advanced skills in Microsoft Excel

+ Ability to work in a dynamic, collaborative environment to meet deadlines

+ Detail oriented and organized with the ability to effectively prioritize tasks

+ Strong quantitative and analytical skills

+ Strong written and oral communication skills

+ Strong problem solving and influencing skills

+ Professional demeanor and strong relationship management skills

+ Experience with an in‐house legal department or law firm

+ Experience in the technology industry

+ Strong curiosity in technology and an understanding of major technology trends

+ Interest in assessing emerging digital tools and technology for current Legal processes



**Basic Qualifications:**



+ At least a Bachelor’s degree OR Military experience

+ At least 1 year of experience in Business Process Management or Project Management

+ At least 1 year of experience in querying and analyzing data



**Preferred Qualifications:**



+ 3+ years of experience in Business Process Management or Project Management

+ 1+ years of experience with Tableau Desktop

+ 1+ years of technology focused project management and delivery

+ Lean, Agile, Six Sigma, Business Process Management, or Project Management certification

+ Experience leveraging Agile principals for product development and delivery

+ Familiarity with TeamSites/SharePoint

+ Familiarity with VBA and/or statistical analytics tools/languages (SAS, R, Python)

+ Navigates easily between technology and business topics
