**External Job Description:**

The primary focus areas will be Planning and Production Control for the onsite X83 offices at Electric Boat Quonset Point Facility. This position coordinates planning and Module Shipment efforts for Virginia Class Submarines at EB Quonset Point as well as EB Groton and Newport News facilities in VA as required.

Primary responsibility of the Module Shipment Completion Coordinator is to support and provide quick response tasks related to module construction / transfer. As the lead NNS Planning and Production Control Module Shipment Completion representative, this position is responsible for work completion / compliance in accordance with the applicable Module Shipout Procedures (P-50 & SSP 23.32-02).

Plans, prepares, issues and controls production schedules and coordinates with material requirements to ensure a controlled flow of approved materials timed to meet production requirements. Advises management of the status on work in progress, material availability, and potential production problems to ensure that personnel, equipment, materials, and services are provided as needed to support module completion / transfer.

Schedules equipment and personnel, confirms material supply and demands, has work orders or purchase requests prepared for the production or purchase of components or parts based on a master production schedule, shop load and inventory requirements. Coordinates interdepartmental activity with quality assurance, manufacturing, purchasing, engineering, inventory control, traffic, etc.; schedules and expedites the movement of parts by means of move orders, stock transfers, and requests for shipping orders. Provides, Quality Assurance support (Ship Checks, data & Critiques), Test Support (TIR's, TF's, data compilation/transfer, procedure alignments and improvements via revisions).

Prepares and analyzes reports for management review. Assesses design disclosures. Coordinates the activities associated with VCS module delivery’s and material transfers

Serves as consultant to management and special external spokesperson for the organization on major matters pertaining to its policies, plans, and objectives. Acts as an advisor to senior management and customers.

This position requires the understanding of the entire build process as well as facilities and personnel resources. Regularly interfaces with NNS home departments, Electric Boat (EB), and government counterparts.

**Basic Qualifications:**

This job requires - Apprentice School graduate, or a Bachelor's degree and 10 years of progressive HII planning/production control experience OR - 8 years progressive production operations experience with a Masters degree OR - 15 years of progressive HII planning/production control/production management/ testing experience (minimum of 10 of the 15 years being planning/production control). A candidate should possess a well-founded knowledge of Company operations, production processes, ship systems, and planning methods and schedules and/or plant maintenance activities, plus demonstrated leadership potential.

**Preferred Qualifications:**

A candidate should possess an expert knowledge of Company operations, production processes, shop processes, ship systems, network scheduling principles, and planning methods. The individual will be required to work closely with the Construction Project and the Shipboard Trades to develop and maintain work breakdown, shipboard work packages, and planned bills of material. Good communication and teamwork skills are required. Incumbent will utilize minor programming skills and Microsoft Office Products.
