Riverside Behavioral Health Center located in Hampton, Virginia is currently seeking a full-time Psychiatric Technician.  

Riverside Behavioral Health Center, an established mental health care provider in Hampton Roads since 1983, provides psychiatric and chemical dependency services to children, adolescents and adults on an outpatient and inpatient basis. We offer a variety of services such as Inpatient Adult Services, Inpatient Child and Adolescent Services, Adolescent Residential Services and Outpatient Services, to individuals who experience emotional, psychological and behavioral problems. Individual, family and group therapy, recreation therapy, art therapy, life skills groups, and medication management are key components of the programs we provide. Job Summary: Works under the supervision of the Charge RN/Nursing Supervisor/Nurse Manager/Director in personal care of the patients and their environment, including those needing special precautions. This position must be able to demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to support/provide care appropriate to the age of the patient/resident served on unit assigned. The individual must have knowledge of the principles of growth and development over the life span and possess the ability to assess data reflective of the patient's/residents status and interpret the appropriate information needed to identify each patient's/resident's requirements relative to age-specific needs and to provide the care needed as described in the departmental policy and procedure guide.

Education: High School Diploma or equivalent preferred

Certification/Licensure: BLS certification required within 10 days of hire. Current Drivers License and acceptable driving record preferred.

Experience: Experience in behavioral health preferred.
