Riverside Regional Medical Center located in Newport News, Virginia has opportunities for Registered Nurses for their Medical ICU! The Medical ICU is a fast-paced, high acuity, 14 bed unit specializing in care for patients with a variety of diseases such as renal failure, respiratory failure, drug overdoses, GI bleeds, sepsis, multi-organ dysfunction, and DKA. Our nurses work closely with physicians and nurse practitioners to provide care for patients with multi-organ failure, ventilators, and vasoactive drips. MICU nurses pride ourselves on strong communication skills, collaboration with interdisciplinary team members, providing excellent patient care and service excellence. Nurses in the MICU develop a very broad and marketable set of skills to care for the wide range of patient diagnoses.
EDUCATION: BSN is required or must be obtained within 5 years of the start date in the position. Specialty certification in field highly encouraged.
LICENSURE: Licensed RN or board eligible by the State of Virginia or compact state. Must have or obtain ACLS and/or PALS per departmental requirements. BLS is required.
EXPERIENCE: Experience preferred in an acute care setting but not required.
