Job Summary: Works under the supervision of the Director and Department Managers. Effectively utilizes all billing software systems, computer systems and telephone system to provide accurate, responses to patient account inquiries and for the delivery of exemplarily customer service. Utilization includes Medipac, Invision, Athena, Clinicals, Imaging, Centricity, R-care and others as required. A strong understanding of revenue cycle operations in all departments. Responsible to identify issues and reporting trends. Acts as a liaison between the billing office and all front end locations.

Position will be cross functional to cover the three reporting departments:

Patient Accounting Call Center: Handling patient inquiries via the telephone, to include Riverside acute care facility billing inquiries and Riverside Medical Group physician billing inquiries.

Central Scheduling: Schedules appointments for diagnostic tests and treatment therapies for all Riverside facilities.

Insurance Verification: Completes pre-registrations to include insurance verification for patients using Riverside facilities. Preregistration and insurance verification ensures proper collection of payment for services rendered. The employee must have full understanding of the requirements for in the RHS Charity program and self-pay processes, network / out of network, authorizations vs. no authorizations, Medical Necessity, providing quotes, calculating patient payments, electronically posting patient payments; identifying issues and reporting trends. Performs duties associated with area of coverage such as full understanding of the requirements for in the RHS Charity program and self-pay processes, network / out of network, authorizations vs. no authorizations, Medical Necessity, providing quotes, calculating patient payments, electronically posting patient payments.

Education: High School Diploma or GED required.

Certification: Revenue Cycle Specific Certification (Example: CHAA – Certified Healthcare Access Associate or CPAT – Certified Patient Accounting Technician) within 1 year required.

Experience: 2 years' experience in Revenue Cycle, business office setting /or BS Degree +1 year customer service experience. Master's Degree can count for 1 year of additional experience.

Hours: Monday-Friday, 8:00am-5:00pm.
