**Title: Risk Manager, Credit Controls Management Advisory**



**Level:** Manager



**Job Description**



The Consumer Credit and Model Risk (CCMR) team is currently seeking a Manager, Credit Controls Management Advisor. As part of Capital One’s second line of defense in Credit Risk Management, this highly visible role will seek to strengthen the credit policy control infrastructure in the first line, and limit the risk of noncompliance with credit policy.



This is an exciting opportunity for a well-rounded associate to join a high performing team of credit policy experts. As a member of the Consumer Credit Controls Management Team, the right candidate will work to ensure that business processes in the consumer lines of business comply with applicable credit policy requirements. This is accomplished by working directly with first line partners to provide guidance on the applicability of credit policy requirements as well as the proper development, maintenance and implementation of credit policy compliance controls. Credit Controls Management Advisors interact frequently with senior executives inside and outside of the department while managing the below responsibilities:



**Basic Responsibilities:**



• Ability to influence at executive levels and demonstrated ability to affect change



• Perform targeted assessments on lines of business controls to evaluate the strength of the credit policy control infrastructure



• Advise lines of business on the applicability of credit policy requirements and corresponding control expectations



• Provide guidance and effective challenge consumer credit policy topics as risks emerge



• Maintain a strong understanding of the Credit Risk Management Policy, supporting Standards, and the Credit Policy Compliance Management Program framework



• Provide input on Credit Policy requirements, and their applicability and risk ratings



• Provide guidance on credit-related business procedures and practices



• Develop and deliver Credit Policy Compliance Training as necessary



• Flexibility to travel to various Capital One locations as necessary



• Other ad hoc responsibilities as they arise



**Basic** **Qualifications:**



• Bachelor’s degree or Military experience



• At least 5 years of finance, or at least 5 years of audit, or at least 5 years of credit review, or at least 5 years of compliance, or at least 5 years of risk management



• At least 3 year of experience working with senior leaders



• Proficient with MS Office Suite



**Preferred Qualifications**



• Masters of Business Administration (MBA)



• 7 years of finance, or 7 years audit, or 7 years credit review, or 7 years compliance, or 7 years risk management



• 5 years of experience supporting senior leaders



• 2 years of experience in communications planning, including department communications, leadership team meetings, presentations, memos and reports
