Currently located in Nassawadox, Virginia on the Eastern Shore, Shore Memorial Hospital is a full-service, fully accredited hospital. Our resources and technology are truly amazing. Riverside Shore Memorial is a credit to community hospitals everywhere and particularly to the people here -- because it was ordinary citizens who raised the funds to start the hospital. Shore Memorial Hospital will soon be expanding and will be located in Onley, Virginia. The brand new, state of the art facility will be a 52-bed hospital with private rooms, a Surgical Suite with three operating rooms, a ten bed Intensive Care Unit and an advanced Emergency Department with all private treatment rooms. The hospital will be expanding outpatient services to include a diagnostic center with advanced imaging services to include MRI and CT scanner, on-campus Cancer Care Center and a freestanding medical office building housing our specialty physician offices.

Riverside Shore Memorial Hospital is currently seeking a full time Registered Nurse for Surgical Services.

JOB SUMMARY: Works under the supervision of the Nurse manager and the Director and is responsible for the assessment, planning,implementing, and evaluating the total nursing care of assigned patients. The RN may work in a variety of settings and roles within Riverside Health System. The RN utilizes communication, critical thinking, problem solving, and decision making to create a care plan for each patient based on physiological, psychosocial and cultural diversity. Responsible for supervising and delegating non-professional personnel working directly with him/her to ensure optimum patient care. Must demonstrate competence in dealing with age related needs of specific patient populations served in their assigned unit/dept. Works under the direction of leadership and a multi-disciplinary team to provide a comprehensive range of services or clinical care associated with and in accordance with standards of excellence established by Riverside Health system and facility goals and strategic plans.

EDUCATION: BSN is required or must be obtained within 5 years of the start date in the position. Specialty certification in field highly encouraged.

LICENSURE: Licensed RN or board eligible by the State of Virginia or compact state. Must have or obtain ACLS, PALS and/or BLS per departmental requirements

EXPERIENCE: Experience preferred in an acute care setting but not required
