SBA Construction Loan Administrator (Manager)



**Summary:**



Member of the Small Business Banking SBA team. Provide construction monitoring services for SBA 504 and 7(a) commercial loans. Customers are internal and external. Coordinate and identify customer needs, loan requirements and documentation requirements for both ground-up, renovation, rehabilitation and leasehold construction projects. Provide administrative support to the SBA team, to facilitate effective and efficient customer service.



**Responsibilities:**



+ Monitoring SBA commercial construction projects to completion. This includes set up of all data for monitoring, as well as reviewing construction documents, ordering construction inspections, analyzing and balancing the Contractor’s Application and Certification for Payment, reviewing and comprehending written reports, resolving or escalating significant inspection problems as necessary, order and review title updates, addressing title exceptions as needed, funding periodic draw requests when all requirements have been met and ensuring that the project is on time and on budget.

+ Assisting Third Party Funds Control company with funding during construction.

+ Maintaining insurance policies on loans during construction.

+ Maintaining loan monitoring systems and budgets, containing detailed information of loans, collateral and advances.

+ Assisting Business Bankers, SBA Underwriters and SBA Loan Closers with questions related to construction loans.

+ Demonstrate Customer Service accountability by responding promptly to Customer and Banker inquiries, resolving routine and more complex problems, and escalating unresolved situations to the proper authority for further review.

+ Preparation of construction commitment letters, with PM support.

+ Assisting SBA team with annual loan reviews and audits.

+ Extensive use of Excel & Access Database to monitor SBA commercial construction.

+ Assisting in preparation of Word, Excel, and PowerPoint documents as needed.

+ Fostering a sound working relationship with the staff we support by developing a mutual understanding of and respect for the responsibilities of the BB, SBA Closer, SBA Underwriter and SSS.

+ Ensuring audit and security policies and procedures are followed in accordance with Bank policy and Federal regulations.

+ Performing research necessary to complete job responsibilities.

+ Working closely with Business Banker, SBA Loan Closers and Attorneys through the pre-and post-approval process and toward achieving a smooth and sound closing for Business Banker and their clients.

+ Assist with any amendments and modifications when needed.

+ Provide preliminary project review prior to loans being submitted to underwriting.

+ Effectively manage and mitigate the risk inherent in the construction loan portfolio by conforming to loan requirements, supporting informed business decisions, avoiding failures during the construction phase, compliance with program objectives and internal policies.

+ Ensure proper transfer of construction loan to a permanent facility.

+ Look for opportunities to improve processes.



**Basic Qualifications:**



+ Bachelor’s Degree or military experience

+ At least 3 years’ commercial construction lending experience with a high level of customer service involvement



**Preferred Qualifications:**



+ 1 year or more of construction administration experience

+ 1 year or more of U.S. Small Business Administration lending experience
