The SEM Analyst position is based in Norfolk, VA, and reports to the Director of Marketing. The candidate will be responsible for developing and executing initiatives to synergize our current marketing strategy and develop new objectives to boost our dealer and consumer engagement through marketing, advertising, data collection, lead generation, data distribution and targeted deliverables, as well as leveraging to strategic partnerships to ensure our place in the both the Commercial Truck and Equipment industries.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Strong background in Search Engine Marketing
  • Intermediate to expert knowledge of the Google AdWords platform
  • Ability to effectively manage hundreds of campaigns while working with a targeted budget
  • Ability to write compelling and high-performing ad copy
  • Strong experience with keyword research
  • Experience utilizing AdWords scripting and/or the Google AdWords API
  • Advanced knowledge of web analytics concepts including tagging
  • Advanced knowledge of Google Analytics
  • Ability to run custom reports, create custom segments, and speak with authority of visitor behavior and interaction with a web property
  • Ability to setup Google Analytics/Adobe Analytics event and goal tracking
  • Manage all display remarketing campaigns via Google AdWords, as well as varying social media platform pixels
  • Based on reporting and analysis develop new creative concepts and grow existing outlets for B2B communication channels (Print, web, event marketing, affiliate partnerships, social media, etc.)
  • Manage relationships with online marketing partners and vendors like Google, Bing, and Oodle and keep up-to-date on new features and product capabilities
  • Lead ongoing account optimization to include structure improvements, targeting improvements (geo, demographic, day-parting, keyword and URL), frequency caps, search query mining, keyword expansion, advanced use of negative keywords, and improvement in bid management processes and algorithms
  • Ability to provide detail analysis and reporting on SEM
  • Collaborate with marketing team to design and deliver research to impact brands as well as ensure our objectives have been implemented properly and tracked to fruition
  • Contribute to product strategy, definition, and delivery


Specialized Skills:

  • Three to five years success creating and optimizing large paid search (SEM) campaigns across Google
  • Two plus years heavy SEM account management, ideally managing $50K monthly budgets
  • Expertise with bid management tools and third-party web analytics software, such as Omniture, WebTrends, or Google Analytics, all highly desirable
  • Success with LARGE keyword sets, complex targeting, and bidding strategies; success managing localized keyword sets is a plus
  • Solid understanding of performance marketing, conversion, and online customer acquisition
  • Able to leverage analytics and work with complex data sets to understand performance, optimize campaigns, drive decisions, and measure outcome — great at distilling complex data into actionable insights
  • Google certification a must
  • Strengths and business competencies include communication (written and verbal), attention to detail, multi-tasking, work independently, collaborate, drive for results, time management, project management, quantitative and analytical, decision quality, customer focus, technical acumen, problem solving, integrity and trust
  • Microsoft Office skills, especially with Excel in manipulating/analyzing large amounts of data
  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business, or related field preferred
