Senior Communications Manager, Diversity & Inclusion - Technology Organization



Building an inclusive culture while hiring, developing, and retaining diverse talent is a top priority for the Capital One Technology Organization. As Senior Communications Manager you’ll work directly with a senior leadership team deeply committed to becoming a more diverse and inclusive organization. In this role, you will be responsible for leading and driving effective, engaging communications strategies that advance an integrated diversity and inclusion strategy spanning talent acquisition, learning, development, retention and associate engagement. You will work closely with partners across the enterprise and in the broader industry to support our collective D&I goals.



Responsibilities:



+ Work closely with senior leadership and cross-functional partners (Brand, Corporate Communications, HR Consultants, and other communicators) to develop and implement a range of strategies and creative solutions to reach key target audiences (including associates, candidates, media and community members) in support of the Technology organizations’ s diversity and inclusion journey

+ Support the Technology D&I strategy and plan in alignment with Capital One’s broader D&I efforts

+ Support the representation of Technology’s D&I work stream and vision to internal and external partners

+ Drive and/or collaborate with appropriate external partners on external marketing, communication, community activities, conferences, and networking events.

+ Maintain a connection with the D&I discipline externally, establishing relationships and bringing back new, innovative opportunities to the organization

+ Develop a comprehensive strategy to share updates and articles of interest to meaningfully engage the Technology organization

+ Apply user-experience design and data-driven methodologies to create breakthrough, integrated experiences for our associates

+ Utilize social computing platforms and graphics packages to create a media-rich communications experience for a diverse set of audiences

+ Lead internal marketing communication campaigns and projects



Basic Qualifications:



+ Bachelor’s degree or military experience

+ At least 7 years of experience in one or more of the following: corporate communications, internal business communications, or leading large-scale organizational change and communication projects

+ At least 2 years of experience in supporting D&I strategies and initiatives

+ At least 4 years of digital communications experience



Preferred Qualifications:



+ At least 2 years of experience working with a technology-oriented company

+ At least 2 years of experience with cutting-edge digital media tools

+ At least 2 years of experience working in an environment that leverages Agile principles to organize and drive work

+ Proven ability as a strategic thinker and problem-solver

+ Strong collaboration, interpersonal and coaching skills

+ Strong organizational and prioritization capabilities

+ Strong judgment, influence, leadership, and integrity
