Job Summary: Works under the supervision of the Director, Decision Support. The Senior Cost Analyst maintains and updates the direct cost accounting system to be used in determining fully absorbed, functional costs and performs analyses to support decision making, strategy, performance improvement, and other key operational goals for customers throughout Riverside Health System. This role is responsible for all activities related to the use, improvement and maintenance of the cost accounting system to include the following:
1. Responsibility for the monthly costing process to integrate financial and patient statistical data into the cost accounting system.
2. Development and maintenance of RVUs, costing standards and methods of accurately distributing costs.
3. Analysis of Service Line Costs.
4. Promote, build, and apply cost accounting to additional health system divisions within the data warehouse.
Education: Graduation from a recognized college or university with a Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, or related field required.
Experience: Minimum of 2 years practical experience in an analytically-oriented business environment to include demonstrated aptitude and knowledge of financial analysis and project management required. Must demonstrate a thorough knowledge of cost accounting models and cost allocation techniques required. Strong Excel and Access skills required. Excellent interpersonal, organization and analytical skills required. Healthcare-related finance background is preferred.
