**Sourcing Manager Roles and Responsibilities**



Capital One is looking for an experienced Sourcing Manager located in Richmond or McLean, Virginia, to join its team. The individual filling this role will need to have sound procurement skills, deep relationship management skills, and strong consultative skills. This individual will work across many categories and will own the end-to-end process of bringing new suppliers into the Capital One network.



Their responsibilities will include sourcing strategies, category strategies, supplier communications, request for proposals (and related due diligence), competitive intelligence, and deal strategy & negotiations (contract terms and conditions, scopes of work, pricing, service levels, etc.). They will also assist a dedicated Contract Manager to negotiate and finalize the supplier agreements.



The Sourcing Manager is expected to work within a highly collaborative, entrepreneurial environment. The Sourcing Manager will interact closely with members of Enterprise Supplier Management, colleagues across different Capital One lines of business, and representatives from third-party suppliers. Excellent influencing and communication skills are a must. They will need to demonstrate positive energy, innovative ideas, proactive and results oriented workstyle, and the ability to adapt quickly to change.



**You should have:**



+ Proven negotiation skills with a track record of delivering cost savings whilst maintaining quality through strategic sourcing

+ Experience managing large scale supplier or partner relationships from a contracting, sourcing and ongoing risk management perspective

+ Ability to analyze external industry trends and benchmarks, as well as develop and share market insights

+ Experience in strategy development, process design and project delivery

+ Ability to build strong internal and external relationships, understand the procurement parameters and look for new opportunities

+ Proven experience consulting with internal and external business partners to drive & influence strategic decision-making

+ Strong analytical skills with the ability to challenge the status quo

+ Excellent communication and presentation skills

+ A demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects concurrently in an autonomous environment; ability to generate and pursue innovative ideas; complex project management skills; written and verbal communications



**Basic Qualifications:**



+ Bachelor’s degree or military experience

+ At least 5 years of experience in sourcing, or at least 5 years of experience in RFP development, or at least 5 years of experience in supplier negotiations

+ At least 5 years of experience in contract review

+ At least 5 years of experience in negotiation management

+ At least 1 year of experience in project management



**Preferred Qualifications:**



+ MBA

+ 7 Years of experience in sourcing, or 7 years of experience in RFP development, or 7 years of experience in supplier negotiations

+ 7 years of experience in negotiation management
