A staff Speech/Language Pathologist is required to be flexible with daily scheduling and may be required to work various patient care settings. A staff Speech/Language Pathologist is supervised by the Rehab Services Management. Following appropriate practice, the Speech/Language Pathologist evaluates, plans, and implements individual patient care, educating, counseling patients, documents progress, and participates in planning and discharging according to the department policies and procedures. This position may also perform other assigned duties. A staff Speech/Language Pathologist must demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide age, goal, and diagnosis appropriate care. The individual must demonstrate knowledge of the principles of growth and development throughout the life span, be able to assess patients? needs and status by analyzing evaluated data, and be able to interpret information to identify age-specific needs and provide appropriate care accordingly per patient care setting. This position must also be able to follow and adhere to the practices described in the Department Policy and Procedure Manual.
