Sr Manager, Business Development Marketing - Credit Card Partnerships



Capital One is seeking a seasoned marketer with B2B experience to lead Business Development Marketing efforts for Capital One's Credit Card Partnerships line of business. This is an exciting time for Capital One Card Partnerships. Capital One is focused on attracting and acquiring new private label and co-brand credit card partners to add to our existing roster of partner cards. We are looking to expand our business aggressively in the partner credit card segment, not only through organic growth in existing programs, but also through acquisitions of new card partners, which is the focus of this role.



In this position, you will help drive Capital One’s new partner acquisition strategy, including identification of target businesses, and developing the approach and story that helps Capital One win the businesses we pursue. You will work with a cross functional team to:



+ Create the Capital One Partnerships B2B story and pitch strategy

+ Identify and evaluate potential partner companies and brands

+ Tailor each pitch to win every business we compete for

+ Own development and delivery of significant portions of the pitch, including:

+ Recommending the customer journey, including migrating current cardholders to Capital One, acquiring new customers, and growing with cardholders, to demonstrate how Capital One will maximize the customer relationship through the entire lifecycle.

+ Developing a point of view around the consumer value proposition

+ Demonstrating how Capital One will help invent (or reinvent) the program positioning, messaging strategy and omni-channel marketing plans to achieve key objectives

+ Partnering with the research team to lead the identification and development of key insights

+ Transition newly-won business from the business-development team to our vertical business units



This role will report to the VP of Partnerships Card Marketing. The ideal candidate will strongly influence the evolution of Capital One’s business development strategy for the Partnerships line of business, and lead the translation of that strategy into successful identification and recruitment of future partners.



Basic Qualifications:



+ At least 6 years of experience in marketing

+ At least 2 years in business development marketing



Preferred Qualifications:



+ Master’s degree

+ 8 years of experience in marketing and Brand management

+ 4 years of experience in business development marketing including creating and delivering winning pitches

+ 5 years of leadership experience in building and managing teams

+ 3 years of work experience in financial services or related marketing fields
