Riverside Behavioral Health Center, a Campus of Riverside Regional Medical Center located in Hampton, Virginia is currently recruiting for a labor pool (as needed) Substitute Teacher to join their dynamic team of compassionate professionals.

Riverside Behavioral Health Center, an established mental health care provider in Hampton Roads since 1983, provides psychiatric and chemical dependency services to children, adolescents and adults on an outpatient and inpatient basis. We offer a variety of services such as Inpatient Adult Services, Inpatient Child and Adolescent Services, Adolescent Residential Services and Outpatient Services, to individuals who experience emotional, psychological and behavioral problems. Job Summary: Substitute Teacher is responsible for implementing instruction for students receiving both general and special education services during a teacher absence on both Child/Adolescent Services Treatment units - Acute and Residential. Plans instruction that is developmentally both age and grade appropriate to achieve desired objectives that reflect the Virginia Standards of Learning for each student if teacher absence extends more than a week. Responsible for maintaining student educational records, attendance, and weekly anecdotal notes. Duties may include direct patient care as assigned.

Education: Must possess a minimum of 60 credit hours from an accredited college or university.

Certification: Current BLS is required within 10 days of hire.

Experience: Experience preferred in working with students with emotional disturbance, learning disabilities or related disabilities.
