Internal Job Description

The CVN 79 Deck Machinery Superintendent is responsible for Safety, Quality, Schedule, and Cost performance. 
Supervises, assigns, coordinates and evaluates semi-skilled and skilled trades personnel according to their skill, experience and job knowledge. Breaks broad strategies down to practical action plans and ensures these plans are executed. Responsible for complying with all technical aspects of the job including adherence to all drawings, procedures, etc. Responsible for installation, operation, testing, and process operations that have a significant financial impact on the company's performance. Supervises qualified construction management staff; monitoring job and budget performance for all shifts. 
This position requires considerable knowledge and experience in the supervision of complex component outfitting, and ship construction operations. A minimum of 10 years of Construction Management experience is required. An Apprentice graduate or an incumbent with equivalent technical training and experience is preferable
