ADP is hiring a Scrum Master for our new Norfolk location! The Scrum Master will aide in the transformation of waterfall teams to high performing Agile teams by serving as the Scrum Master for one or two teams as well as coaching teams on Agile values & principles. The Scrum Master will aide with the transformation by partnering closely with product owners and development managers during release planning, help teams maintain focus on sprint goals, remove impediments, escalate issues to management when necessary, provide feedback on associate performance, facilitate Scrum ceremonies, coaches team; encourages accountability for the delivery of high quality, tested working software every sprint as well as the delivery of timely commitments; ensures retrospectives result in continuous improvement sprint to sprint. Essential Duties:
* Strongly serving and supporting the Product Owner and Development Team in their quest to do everything possible to delight customers
* Providing all support to the team using a servant leadership style and leading by example
* Facilitates Scrum ceremonies including Release Planning
* Guiding the Scrum Team on how to use Agile/Scrum practices and values to delight clients
* Guiding and Coaching both the Scrum Team and the Development team on how to get the most out of self-organization
* Assessing the Scrum Maturity of the team, and coaching the team to higher levels of maturity, at a pace that is sustainable and comfortable for the team and organization
* Removing impediments or guiding the team to remove impediments by finding the right personnel to remove the impediment
* Enables a trusting and safe environment where problems can be raised without fear of blame, retribution, or being judged, with an emphasis of healing and problem solving
* Facilitating getting the work done without coercion, assigning, or dictating the work
* Facilitating discussion, decision making and conflict resolution
* Assist with internal & external communication, improve transparency and radiate information
* Supporting the Product Owner, helping to groomand manage the product backlog Required Skills/Experience
* 2+ years as a Scrum Master
* Experience with transitioning waterfall teams to Agile/Scrum
* Good skills and knowledge of servant leadership, facilitation, situational awareness, conflict resolution, continual improvement, empowerment and increasing transparency
* Personifies the agile mindset
* Knowledge of Scrum metrics for continuous improvement, transparency & visibility
* The ability to distinguish between what "is Scrum" what is "not Scrum"
* Effective collaborator across all levels of the organization including strong partnering skills
* Experience as a Scrum Master in a variety of contexts including team sizes, different cultures, co-located vs. distributed
* Excellent communication and mentoring skills
* Release planning facilitation and co-ordination for large program development efforts
* Facilitation & participation in Scrum of Scrums Preferred Skills/Experience
* Track record of continued and recent education in Scrum, including training, conferences, user groups, self-study, etc.
* Knowledge of other approaches discussed in the Agile space such as XP and KanBan
* Knowledge or experience with widely successful Agile techniques: User Stories, ATDD, TDD, Continuous Integration, Continuous Testing, Pairing, Automated Testing, Agile Games
* Applicable knowledge of the technologies used by the team
* Scaled Agile Framework
