The ideal candidate will possess strong problem solving and technical skills. Proven ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team and cross functionally in a dynamic IT environment.

POSITION OVERVIEW:

Video Conference & Classroom Support Engineer supports the College’s technology enhanced classrooms, video conferencing, and distributed-learning facilities.

Responsibilities include;

  • Maintaining hardware, software, and CATV systems used by the Academic Community, especially within technology-enhanced classrooms on campus. ’
  • Planning, installation, and user orientation of Classroom Support projects and systems. Ensure reliability of installed systems and continually develop new solutions to support academic progress in the classroom.
  • Aid in the planning of future projects related to the technological infrastructure in the classroom. Work alongside a team of like-minded classroom technologists.

Requirements

EDUCATION:
Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology or related field or equivalent combination of training and experience.

COMPETENCIES:

  • Working knowledge of current technologies related to audio/video systems installation and implementation.
  • Knowledge troubleshooting with an understanding of how the technologies work within the enterprise network infrastructure.
  • Proven ability to provide operational support and maintenance of video conference and distributed-learning systems and voice/data/computer equipment.
  • Demonstrated troubleshooting skills and proficiency with a variety of video conferencing and distributed-learning software systems, operating on both Microsoft and Apple Platforms.
  • Demonstrated knowledge in the use of interactive video conferencing facilities, CATV as well as a strong skill base in computer operating systems. Ability to provide effective training in innovations in technology, research and recommend and aid in choosing system upgrades and new technologies.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills with the ability to manage multiple projects while working independently and in a team environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to stay current with industry technical/organizational trends, products, services, and best practices.

EXPERIENCE::

  • Experience in the use of interactive video conferencing facilities, CATV as well as a strong skill base in computer operating systems
  • Experience in audio-visual services, computer support and/or technology enhanced classroom support and videoconferencing.
  • Hands on experience troubleshooting, installing, and maintaining multimedia equipment and software. Proven ability to function effectively in a team and to work independently.
