The Westminster-Canterbury at Home The EHR Specialist will be the first line of contact for Senior Options Electronic Health Record users.  
The individual will be an expert in the position specific use of the software and support the Senior Options team in rolling out new customers.  
The EHR specialist is responsible for responding to first level calls from Senior Options EHR users.  Importantly, the position will provide regular and position specific training through webinars and recordings. Other duties include report generation and timely submission of key electronic files.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:

  • Sets up all new Senior Options users into EHR.  Manages passwords.  
    Maintains the database of all Senior Options' user licenses by type and site.
  • Provides new user and refresher training on a regular basis through webinars and recordings for each user type. 
    Follows up with participants after training to determine further training needs and satisfaction with the training.
  • Responds to user calls and provides or facilitates resolution. Escalates problems to supervisor when needed. Maintains a log of calls.
  • Communicates concerns to clinical team.
  • Retrieves data for clinical and quality measures and provides monthly reports for each partner.
  • Assists partners with periodic OASIS and chart audits.
  • Uploads patient and family satisfaction data per time schedule.
  • Serves as back up for Director of Health Information Technology 
  • Serves as a subject matter expert and trains all health information coordinators throughout Senior Options.
  • Work with Senior Options billing team to resolve issues when needed.
  • - May support and train Senior Options partners on other technology applications.

Requirements

QUALIFICATIONS [Education, Training, Skills and Work Experience]

 

1. Three or more years’ experience in health information coordination or management.

2. Three years experience and proficiency in working with the application of an electronic health record software, preferably one with home health and/or hospice.

3. Proven ability to teach adults and prepare curriculum.

4. Experience working in home health and hospice preferred.

5. ICD 10 coding certificate preferred

6. Strong demonstration of customer service skills

7. Experience in EHR user training.

8. LPN or 2 years of college preferred.

9.   May work evenings to accommodate partner time zones and serve in an on call rotation.

10. Demonstrated strong computer skills, including Excel, Word, Powerpoint

11. Must possess excellent verbal and written communication skills

12. Demonstrated ability to meet deadlines; work under limited supervision; and to handle various projects and schedules simultaneously

13. Must have experience with all types of office equipment, i.e. copier, fax, computers, multi-line phone system, webinars

Qualifications:

  • Physically able to perform all aspects of this job
  • Strong computer and internet skills
  • Microsoft Excel and spreadsheet experience a must
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Demonstrated ability to prioritize tasks, handle multiple tasks simultaneously, react quickly under stringent time frames, and meet fixed deadlines
  • Experience with all types of office equipment, i.e. copier, fax, computers, multi-line phone system, etc.
  • Valid state driver's license - Motor Vehicle Driving Record satisfactory to Westminster-Canterbury and its insurance providers - Proof of motor vehicle insurance
