Performs technical planning, system integration, verification and validation, cost and risk, and supportability and effectiveness analyses for total systems. Analyses are performed at all levels of total system product to include: concept, design, fabrication, test, installation, operation, maintenance and disposal. Ensures the logical and systematic conversion of customer or product requirements into total systems solutions that acknowledge technical, schedule, and cost constraints. Performs functional analysis, timeline analysis, detail trade studies, requirements allocation and interface definition studies to translate customer requirements into hardware and software specifications.

**Preferred Qualifications:**

The primary responsibility of this position is to provide technical engineering support and coordination for the repair and modernization of Piping & HVAC Systems on Nimitz Class Carriers. A clear understanding of how to integrate and manage the interfaces between various disciplines is a must. Additional responsibilities will involve providing solutions to a variety of technical problems of varying scope and complexity.

It is preferred that applicant has a strong working knowledge of HVAC principles and the ability to lead a multidiscipline team. Additionally, the ability to understand the interactions and system requirements of both upstream and downstream customers and ensure products produced meet these requirements efficiently. This individual must be willing to act in a liaison role and be capable of interacting effectively with both internal (various disciplines) and external customers.

Applicants with a degree in Systems Engineering and experience with the design, operation, and maintenance of mechanical systems and components are desired for this position.

Strong technical writing and communication skills are required.

This position requires the ability to physically access a wide variety of work sites, including those aboard ships under various stages of construction or overhaul, including the use of vertical and inclined ladders, and may involve limited kneeling, stooping, standing, etc.
